Music I’d like to have…

Posted in Music at 8:17 pm by jettagirl

In order to keep track of all the music I’d like to have but probably shouldn’t spend the money on at this point, I’m going to keep a list here. Note most of these songs were found by trolling iTunes for 80s stuff. Like shooting fish in a barrel. ;)

  • (purchased) Howard Jones – Revolution of the Heart (looks really good and has a good electronic sound…me likey)
  • Gym Class Heroes – not sure which album but like “Clothes Off”..sorry, I’m a sucker for a catchy song
  • Eve – Tambourine
  • Nik Kershaw – The Riddle (unfortunately iTunes doesn’t have this)
  • a-Ha – Hunting High and Low
  • Wham! – Everything She Wants (already have Last Christmas and Careless Whisper)
  • Alphaville – Forever Young
  • Cathy Dennis – Too Many Walls
  • Chris de Burgh – The Lady in Red
  • The Cure – Greatest Hits
  • Debbie Gibson -
  • Gary Numan – Cars (for my Jetta) =)
  • The Human League (not sure which songs/album)
  • Morrissey
  • New Order (oh yeah!)
  • Nu Shooz – I Can’t Wait
  • Peter Gabriel – So
  • Salt-N-Pepa – Push It
  • Squeeze – Tempted
  • Thompson Twins – Hold me Now
  • Tori Amos – all of the albums
  • U2 – The Joshua Tree (music from the first year at the lab)
  • Vanessa Williams – Save the Best for Last
  • Wilson Philips – Hold On

Huey Lewis and the News (2007)

Posted in Music at 10:03 pm by jettagirl

So this Sunday, Marshall and I drove up to Twainharte for the day so we could attend a Huey Lewis and the News concert at IronStone Winery in Murphys.  The last time we saw Huey was at the California State Fair 6 years ago.  He was awesome then and he totally rocked this year.  We weren’t able to take cameras into the concert so here’s a picture of us from the parking lot.

I’ll write more later.  Time for bed now.

Attempting to recreate Sick mix

Posted in Music at 9:47 pm by jettagirl

Ok, well we know that I loved a particular mix CD that was accidentally (“accidentally”) given away when my old radio was given to the good will. Since then, I’ve really wanted to recover those songs and amazingly enough, it seems that I still remember a good portion of the songs on that tape. Since I’ll forget them unless I write them down, here’s the list and the status on whether I have re-obtained the song or not.

  • They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y) – Pete Rock & C.L Smooth
  • Rebirth of Cool (Slick Like Dat) – Digable Planets
  • Standing on the Verge (Of Gettin It On) – George Clinton (unfortunately only the live version)
  • Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa (Sad Song) – Otis Redding
  • Midlife Crisis – Faith No More
  • The Stroke – Billy Squier
  • Cream – Prince
  • Sexy M.F. – Prince
  • Letitgo – Prince (somewhere but need to find it)
  • Kiss – Prince
  • It Was a Good Day – Ice Cube (haven’t gotten this one yet)
